Associate Media Director

Overview

The Associate Media Director is the client-facing lead of the media and analytics practice at TBG, and responsible for the strategic management of all media deliverables. A strong subject matter expert for clients and internal teams, the Associate Media Director provides strategic leadership, understands all aspects of their client’s business to inform all integrated communications planning for paid, earned and owned channels and is deeply involved in the future of TBG’s media and analytics offering. This role reports to the head of client service, strategy and media where there will be ample opportunity for this role to grow into Media Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a thought leader and expert that clients look to for strategy, enhancing client’s communication channels and media learning and contributing to on-going initiatives to keep the client on top of industry trends
  • Develop communications and media strategy for our clients, and partner with internal capability leads to link media strategy with brand and business objectives
  • Ensure well planned and successful execution, leading a team in the day-to-day development and delivery of data-driven, innovative, targeted, effective media solutions
  • Demonstrate expertise in and knowledge of online and offline advertising, media planning/buying, and industry trends
  • Draft RFPs that lead publisher partners and creative teams to develop innovative approaches to meeting campaign objectives and delivering value
  • Work with analytics team to produce insightful analysis and engaging campaign reviews for clients, demonstrating the effectiveness of our planning, management and optimization of media
  • Integrate with the creative team to help bridge gaps between ideas and placements
  • Lead and manage the work product of the media and analytics team in the production/submission of all deliverables
  • Directly manage and work with senior data analyst on all client measurement and analytics deliverables
  • Continually take an innovative approach to media strategy and planning by creating partnerships with new media and technology partners and fostering a culture of experimentation
  • Assist teams in building & merchandising relevant case studies and participate in new business engagements

 

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7-9 years of experience in an agency with emphasis on digital channels
  • Expert command of media strategy and planning, and especially well-versed in programmatic media/DSPs/DMPs, paid social, paid search and emerging mobile and video technologies
  • Ability to deliver sound strategy that aligns directly to client business goals
  • A passion for digital media and technology and an active interest in how digital innovation is driving change
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to analyze raw data, identify true insight and develop actionable recommendations
  • Well-polished client service skills and demonstrated experience driving new business
  • Proven leadership and team management track record with the ability to motivate people to succeed
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and effective presentation skills, adept at communicating effectively across all levels
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills – able to forge strong relationships and influence clients, partners and colleagues alike
  • Knowledgeable with media planning tools such as Kantar
  • Working knowledge of trafficking and analytics tools such as Campaign Manager and Google Analytics
  • Ability to multi-task, managing several projects simultaneously while providing regular feedback and support to the team
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented and self-starter individual
